I was browsing google and out of curiosity decided to take an empath quiz. Knowing I'm an empath as it is, I decided to see what type a quiz might score me as. http://quizfarm.com/run.php/QuizRunner is the result I got. I found it interesting and decided to research empathic types further. I found this site: http://www.mysticfamiliar.com/archive/empathy/diffrent_types_of_empath.htm
Here's the list of types or levels;
1-Intuitive/emotional/clairemathy empaths: "To sense or feel within ourselves, attitudes or emotions from others."
2-Precognition: "Emotions or feelings of some future event or place."
3-Telepathy: "Which includes thoughts as well as feelings."
4-Physical/healing empathy: "A type of body reading, where one can either sense or feel an ailment, then goes on to use universal energy (or other types) if given permission to do so. Also it should be advised for a healee to have doctors visit if the condition is persistant or severe."
5-Intellectual shape-shifting: "Where you know what was meant to be said during conversation, but the words are not coming out as in the thought process of the other person."
6-Seer: "A form of seeing where the emotions are coming from and why they are causing the emotion, thus giving us a more intense feelings as to why. This also allows us confirmation. One will get visions of a scenario. Sometimes it can hit us like running into a brick wall, it's stunning, though we know what hit us."
7- Spiritual empathy: "A God-like ability in all of us, when in touch with this, or by opening up to it, by looking into one's eyes, the spiritual empath, can sense the other person's oneness with their God."
8-Molecular empathy: "Which one's aura blends into another person's aura, both at a super fine level. From there they can move on to a more spiritual level together."
9-Animal empathy: "These empaths, have a gift of talking to animals and understanding their needs. You understand how it is to be that animal, dog, cat...etc."
10-And also three that there are no description for on that site: Medical empathy, environmental empathy, garden empathy, and crystal empathy. No others were mentioned.
You may identify with several of these, for example I have experienced the symptoms of 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 9 one way or another. And parts of all the others. You shouldn't limit yourself to one label only.
If you don't know what an empath is, it is a type of psychic who can feel and or sense what another person/being is feeling and or thinking, whatever your particular forte' is.
If anybody has any extra information, please say so in a comment.

Psychic Vampirism part 2
Contrary to popular belief, detaching from a psyvamp you know is not the only means of defense. There are several ways to avoid being fed on, the most common being the finger-interlock technique. You hook you middle fingers and thumbs, making a short of chain shape and envision a solid wall, or white inpenetrable cocoon or egg around yourself. With your mind, picture it becoming rigid and hard. Believing it's working is important. You may also put your hands in front of you, palms facing inward and arms outstreched, fingers overlaping, and do the same mentally. Once you've mastered that you can do it without your hands as a reference.
There are also moving shields, no hand gestures needed if your mind is powerful enough. Focus all of your energy into making your aura sort of like a waterfall around yourself, or you can use the Chaotic shield. A Chaotic shield is always moving, changing color and frequency, appearance and movement. That kind of shield is nearly impossible to penetrate. There's also the Fire shield: you make your energy go outwards like a torch in a way, almost "burning" the attacker.
If a psyvamp attacks another psyvamp, they can use the Active Offensive Shield. Basically one psyvamp attacks the other's aura using their psy-tendrils, but so does their "prey" therefore no energy is lost. There's also the Mirror Shield, it's fairly self-explanatory. It reflects the attack back on the attacker.
Empathetic Shielding is basically blocking out empathy, if you have too much empathy it can drain you in a way, especially if you're around someone who's been traumatized.
Cloaking is useful but very difficult, you have to mask your own energy field. Good luck with that.
Anyway, the more you practice defending yourself the better you'll get at it. Meditation always helps, by the way.
Now I should explain chakras, since they're mentioned so much in research on psyvamps types listed. There are seven of them, each located in a different part of the body, the head, between the eyes, the throat, the heart, the navel, right below the navel, and in the genitals. They are energy centers in the body, each spinning almost like the earth itself. They can spin too fast, be overactive, or spin too slow, underactive.
The Seventh Chakra is the Crown Chakra, the one in the head. It's the self-knowledge and identity center, relates to awareness, consiousness, and our connection to beyond and into the unknown, the spaceless and timeless place of all knowledge. (For those of you who're Christian you could call it the link to God.) When developed it brings wisdom, bliss, spiritual connection, understanding and knowledge etc. If it's spinning too slowly or doesn't spin at all you're lonely, indecisive, and constantly tired. If it spins too fast, you have unrealized power and may be manic depressive, or have psychosis and be frsutrated. At the correct speed you're transcendent, and at peace. It's said to achieve miracles.
The Sixth Chakra is known as the Third Eye Chakra, famously the most heightened in Indigos. It relates to the following: self-reflection, archetypal identity, light, seeing both physically and intuitively, and is an opening for psychic abilities. We see clearly with it, the big picture. If it's balanced (spinning at the right speed) you're charismatic, attuned to psychic phenomenon, and highly intuitive. If it's spinning too slowly (or not at all) you can be Schizophrenic, undisciplined, and have a fear of success. If it spins too fast, you may be too social and arrogant.
The Fifth Chakra, a.k.a. Throat Chakra, source for sound, Creative identity, basically oriented around self-expression. It's main thing is communication and creativity, apparently because we experience the world (symbolically) through vibration, in this case sound or language. If it's spinning too quickly you'll be self-righteous, too talkative, and arrogant. Too slowly and you'll be unreliable, have a stiffled expression, and have shifting views. If it's spinning correctly you're an exellent communicator, content, and inspired artistically.
The Fourth Chakra, or the Heart Chakra, is oriented around self-acceptance, social identity. It's element is air. It's the integrator of opposites of psyche: person and shadow, male and female, ego and unity, etc. Symptoms of it spinning too slowly: feeling of unworthiness to receive love, loves too much, inability to accept love. If it spins too fast: you can be emotionally abusive, possessive, and overdramatic. The correct speed: desire for spiritual experience in lovemaking, compassionate, loves unconditionally.
The Third Chakra--Navel Chakra--is self-definition. Ego. Element: Fire. At correct rotation speed you are uninhibited, personally empowered, and have a respect for yourself and others. Too quickly, and you'll be judgemental, angry, and controlling. If it's too slow you'll be insecure, fearful of being alone, and afraid of what others think.
The Second Chakra, Sacral Chakra, is oriented to self-gratification. Element: Water. Emotional identity. It's located in the abdomen, lower back, sexual organs. Obviously it has a focus for sexuality and emotions. It connects to others with movement, desire, feeling, and sensation. It gives you the ability to accept change, depth and feeling, sexual fulfillment, fluidity and grace. If it's spinning too fast you are manipulative, sexually addicted, and emotionally unbalanced. Too slowly and you are frigid, over-sensitive, impotent, and self-guilty. At the correct speed you are expressive and attuned to your emotions, sexually healthy and creative.
And finally, the First Chakra, or the Root Chakra. Element: Earth. It's your physical identity, your fight or flight response/relfex (whatever you wanna call it). It's at the base of the spine, or genitals. It's our foundation, our survival instincts, our sense of grounding and connection to our bodies. It is completely primal. If this chakra is too slow, or not spinning at all (broken) you are fearful and self-destructive, with low self-esteem. Too quickly and you are materialistic, aggressive, and self-centered. At the right speed you are healthy, grounded, and have high energy.
There are also moving shields, no hand gestures needed if your mind is powerful enough. Focus all of your energy into making your aura sort of like a waterfall around yourself, or you can use the Chaotic shield. Psychic Vampirism: Types of Psyvamp
I'll start with telling you the types of psychic vampires and what they generally are.
Some people find that their energies are out of balance, and on many occassions unhealthy lifetyles, (ex. not eating right, never excercising, too much stress, not enough sleep, etc.) may cause their bodies to adapt, becoming psychic vampires/vampyres, a.k.a. psy/psi vamps. Some are just born that way and don't even notice what they're doing for a while--some even go their whole lives without knowing. My theory is that they're just spirtually sensitive (Stars maybe?) people with a glitch in their energies, such as low chi, prana, or other life energies. Note that I am in no way against psyvamps, the word vampire often makes a stereotype that they can't get away from and in turn ruins their reputation. Not all psychic vampires are goth, but I'll admit it's popular.
Ironically, psyvamps are generally more vampiric than sanguinarians (a.k.a . sangs--the kind that lack the psy-tendrils necessary for a psy to feed and need to get the energy they need from blood). Many are paler, more sensitive to sunlight, nocturnal, etc.
Psyvamps feed off of the energies in either people's auras, chakras, emotions, or the elements (even sunlight, ironically). Most of them still need to eat, but there are a few who claim to've ditched food.
There are several "types" of psyvamps, I've listed them here. All of these are references from the site, http://www.psychicvampires.org.
1. Astral Vampire:
"A psychic vampire that exists on the astral plane. It can also be a skilled magician whose physical body has died, but chooses to resist the second death or astral death, by way of becoming a psychic vampire... It is also a psychic vampire that has died in the physical plane but for some reason may not be able to incarnate."
2. Emotional Vampire:
"It is important to note that there are three forms of emotional vampires; The First one is the psychological term of an emotionally needy person. This person may not technically be a vampire just an ordinary mundane person who might have had something traumatize them, and they crave the constant attention or emotional energy from a person... Unfortunately for the vampire community, psychologists have coined the term "psychic vampire,"to represent these emotional vampires... They are often called emotional leeches. Without help, these types of people are usually incapable of having a normal healthy relationship... But with therapy, they usually get better.
"The Second is a branch of the first but they are often called Social Vampires-These are the "Drama Queens," they feed on the drama in the community...and the attention they get... They are generally not looked kindly upon.
"The Third is a Psychic vampire that feeds on emotion... Think of the latter as this: (speaking in metaphors now) Psychic vampires feed on prana/energy, take a prism and split it (pranic energy) like you would sunlight, from there you get certain emotions like colors of the rainbow, happiness, sadness, fear, greed, etc... Some Emotional vampires only feed on certain emotions, just as others feed on anything they can find..."
3. Elemental Vampire:
"Elemental vampires feed off of Natural Phenomena ie: lightening storms, thunder storms, hurricanes, ocean tides, ley lines, waterfalls and natural events. While some exclusively feed on elemental events and forces, some just use the elements to supplement their feeding until they can get a donor or person to feed from... Though typically the first seems to be more common. "
4. Pranic Vampire:
"This is more common and possibly more correct term for psychic vampire. Prana is the Sanskrit word meaning "life energy," which does more accurately describe the energy that they feed on. Pranic Vampires have a broken or in most cases removed chakra, generally the navel, but in some cases the heart chakra. Often times this type of Psychic vampire has a completely reworked energy system. Pranic vampire is generally a catch-all term and may encompass the other types of psychic vampires as well."
5. Sexual Vampire:
"A sexual vampire is a person who feeds on sexual energy. They are sometimes called Tantric Vampires, as they tap into the very essence of the universe. With this type of feeding the other partners very breath, sigh, moan, movement, and caress is drawn for energy. In eastern practices Tantra is a means by which one can achieve enlightenment, and connects with the universe... Love etc. So it is no wonder would feed off of such energy."
6. Symbiotics:
"This is another form of psychic vampire with the exeption that these people survive on the draining of negative energy alone. As an example, usually they will seek out and draw strength from sickness in any human they encounter. In draining the negative energy a victim invariably feels better and is possibly even healthier. The difference between the two form is that Symbiotics drain negative energy with intent but at the same time do not wish to harm their victim. There is a variation of Symbiotics that are astral vampires.
"These Astral symbionts are sentient; But might not always have been. Some of these Astral symbionts are indeed entities, but once may have been constructs, that were left unattended and unchecked long enough to gain a form of sentience. Some even still, hold to the belief that these astral vampires are "Undead Gods."
7. Sympathetic Psychic Vampires:
"A sympathetic psychic vampire is an individual who may have a broken chakra, or some wound to the subtle body that can be healed. It is also a term used when they feed on a person and they take on the vampiric tendancies for a short time in order to normalize their own personal energy. For the most part these conditions are almost always temporary. But the person may become addicted to the "high" of feeding.
8. Learned Psychic Vampires:
"The learned psychic vampire is a skilled magician or psion that feeds on psychic energy and may also try and pass themselves off as psychic vampires. Now the skilled magician often times practices this during their life so that they can get skilled enough so that at the point of their own death they may choose to become an astral vampire and avoid the second death.
The Psion however is just an energy worker, who may feed but doesn't technically need to..."
In my next post I will explain how to block a psyvamp attack and what chakras are.
